Type Locality and Naming

The origin of the name is not specified, Gissar Range foothills, Shurasan Anticline. G.Yu. Alferov et al., 1969.

Synonym: Sulusaiskaya Svita, Сулусайская св.


Lithology and Thickness

Unevenly interbedded alluvial-proluvial red-brown and brick-red sandstones and siltstones with layers of gravelites and conglomerates. Thickness 170m.

Relationships and Distribution

Lower contact

It lies with erosion on the Kyzylchin Fm

Upper contact

It is unconformably overlain by brown-colored molasses of the Upper Pliocene Shurasan Fm.

Kashkadarya, interfluve of Tanhyzdarya and Kyzyl-Darya.
